As we approach this brand new year of 2009, I have thought back on the very first time that The Key of H every met... in Jordan's little bed room, on his birthday, when he had asked if we could all bring our instruments and jam. I can still remember it: two or three electric guitars all pumped through cheap digital effects boxes into several little practice amps, all straining way past capacity trying to compete with a full acoustic drum set - my own little bass amp over driven to the point of distortion - all in a little box like bed room. Then we closed the door and the air pressurized from the sound. I have sometimes heard the sound at death metal concerts referred to as "The Wall of Doom" - well... if that was the wall of doom, then this was like: "The Shoe Box of Doom" or "The Sardine Can of Doom". The compression was amazing... I still remember it... and now, you too can experience it thanks to my newly remastered and mixed for stereo recording of one of our very first attempts of our never released (I guess I could say that of any of our songs) single: Out of Breath, recorded with my very own digital camera, in that very room, on the very night, nearly three years ago.
Turn it up loud,
and try not to cringe too hard!
